IAA Nikah Policy

The following are the policies for hosting Nikah Service at IAA
The East or West Wing (Only first floor) will be reserved for the nikah for 90 minutes from the reservation start time.

  1. Maintaining the Sanctity of the Masjid
  • The masjid is a sacred space for worship, and all ceremonies must reflect this environment.
  • No elaborate decorations, extravagant staging, or banquet-style setups are allowed.
  • Food distribution is permitted only in the rotunda area on first floor east side (Grab n Go only).
  • Modest attire for ALL GUESTS AND PARTICIPANTS (Muslim or Non-Muslim) and hired photographers are REQUIRED. ANYONE VIOLATING THIS RULE WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE PREMISES. NO EXCEPTIONS.

-Violations include

    • Transparent and see-through clothing and
    • Skirts
  • The ceremony should be simple and dignified, focusing on its spiritual significance.
  1. Seating & Setup
  • The seating will be segregated, with men and women on separate sides. (A physical partition is not required.)
  • A cultural partition curtain between the bride and groom is not permitted inside the masjid.
  • Further logistics can be discussed during the first meeting with the officiator.
  1. Conduct & Etiquette
  • No music is permitted inside the masjid.
  • Men and women will be seated separately
  • The start and end times of the event will be strictly enforced
  • Only partitions provided by IAA are allowed.
  • Any cultural or banquet hall practices, such as flower curtains, confetti etc. strictly prohibited.
  • IAA reserves the right to refuse service with or without reason.
  • Guests should maintain proper decorum and avoid loud conversations or activities that may disturb worshippers.
  • The masjid premises must be kept clean, and all personal belongings or items must be removed after the event.

Official Documentation & Marriage License Submission

  • The Officiant will officiate the ceremony and sign all documents.
  • Copies of these documents will be made and sent to the family via registered mail.
  • The official marriage license will be submitted by the Officiant to the County Clerk’s Office.

*Reservations & Cancellations*

  • All reservation requests must be made no later than two weeks prior to the proposed date of use.
  • Reservations are made on a first-come first-served basis and are subject to availability.
  • Cancellation requests must be emailed to iaanikah@allenmasjid.com at least one week prior the ceremony.
  • The Officiant who will perform at your ceremony will be confirmed two weeks prior to your event by IAA.
  • Once the date has been confirmed by IAA and our Officiant, you will receive an email with confirmation details.
  • Nikah party is responsible for paying an honorarium to IAA for the officiant. This is in addition to the Nikah fees mentioned above.

Facility Use Guidelines (Please Review Before Submitting Request):

Decorations & Photography

    • Flower curtains are allowed but must be assembled outside of the musalla and must be completely cleaned up before leaving.
    • Photography is allowed, but only for the ceremony. Couple photos after the ceremony are not permitted.
    • Music is not allowed in the musalla.
  • Guests
    • The maximum guest allowance is 75 people.
    • Pease respect the sanctity of the musalla and observe silence during the Adhan and prayer times while in the musalla.
    • Chairs and a center table can be set up with prior arrangement with IAA administration.
    • Guests must wear respectable attire while in the musalla area.
    • Guest Imams are allowed to give a khutba / talk, but IAA scholars must officiate the ceremony.
