Imam Abdur Rahman Bashir was born and raised in Miami, Florida. After hurricane Andrew, his family moved to Chalmette, Louisiana where he had already been enrolled in an Islamic school studying basic Quranic and Arabic sciences. Shortly after he transferred to the University of Islamic Sciences (Karachi Pakistan) then to the Institute of Islamic Education in the United Kingdom where he completed the rest of the eight year Islamic theology and jurisprudence course and graduated in the year 2000. After being involved with the family business for a few years, he accepted the position of Imam at the Jefferson Muslim Association here in Metairie Louisiana. Unfortunately in the aftermath of huricane Katrina, due to pressing family obligations he resigned to help support his family in their business. After a six year hiatus, in June of 2012, Abdur Rahman Bashir became available after selling’s business and was reinstated as the Imam of the Jefferson Muslim Association. In 2017, he moved to Allen,Texas serving the Islamic Association of Allen. The Imam is fluent in English, Urdu, and classical Arabic. The Imam is happily married and is the father of two boys, Bilal and Jamal
Shaykh Shahid Hoque was raised and educated in Queens, New York City. At an early age, he completed the memorization of the Holy Qur'an at Darul Uloom New York under Sheikh Saiful Islam and Sheikh Abul Khair. Thereafter, he enrolled in the Alim course program in Darul Uloom New York for 5 years, along with completing his high school. For the purpose of achieving a higher education in Islamic Theology, he travelled to South Africa in order to attend the Islamic University of Azaadville. For 3 years he studied under great scholars such as Sheikh Fazlur Rahman Azmi and Mufti Saeed Mutaara. After returning to New York, he furthermore specialized in the Tafseer of the Qur'an under Mufti Ruhul Amin. Upon completing one year of this course he began utlizaing his knowledge by actively educating at weekend intensives and courses, giving Jummah Khutbas, lectures and doing MSA programs and youth programs in numerous places. He has served as the lead teacher for Jamaica Muslim Center's Hifz, Arabic literature and academic program, speaker on Reham TV, advisor at An-Naseeha Basetball League, marriage officiant for Muslim Wedding Service ICNYU and interfaith marriages, among several other community initiatives. Sheikh Shahid is excited and honored to be part of the IAA family to serve the growing spiritual needs of the DFW Muslim community. He hopes to bring his unique experiences and skills here to teach in the most efficient, effective and relatable manner to the coming generations of American Muslims in an effort to continue the chain of Divine Knowledge with the Will of the Almightly.
Shaykh Ameen Almallah serves as the education director at the Islamic Association of Allen. Shaykh Ameen Almallah was born and raised in Dallas, Tx. He graduated from the Qalam Seminary ʿĀlimiyyah program in 2023 and serves as a Teaching Assistant for the Qalam ʿĀlimiyyah program.
