
Imam Abdur Rahman Bashir was born and raised in Miami, Florida. After hurricane Andrew, his family moved to Chalmette, Louisiana where he had already been enrolled in an Islamic school studying basic Quranic and Arabic sciences. Shortly after he transferred to the University of Islamic Sciences (Karachi Pakistan) then to the Institute of Islamic Education in the United Kingdom where he completed the rest of the eight year Islamic theology and jurisprudence course and graduated in the year 2000. After being involved with the family business for a few years, he accepted the position of Imam at the Jefferson Muslim Association here in Metairie Louisiana. Unfortunately in the aftermath of huricane Katrina, due to pressing family obligations he resigned to help support his family in their business. After a six year hiatus, in June of 2012, Abdur Rahman Bashir became available after selling’s business and was reinstated as the Imam of the Jefferson Muslim Association. In 2017, he moved to Allen,Texas serving the Islamic Association of Allen. The Imam is fluent in English, Urdu, and classical Arabic. The Imam is happily married and is the father of two boys, Bilal and Jamal

Shaykh Shahid Hoque was raised in Brooklyn, New York City, where he completed the memorization of the Holy Qur’an and the five-year Alimiyyah program at Darul Uloom New York. In pursuit of higher education in Islamic theology, he traveled to South Africa to earn a BA from the Islamic University of Azaadville under renowned scholars, and later specialized in Qur’anic Tafsir upon returning to New York. He has served as the lead instructor for Jamaica Muslim Center's Hifz, Arabic literature and academic program. He is actively engaged in community education through Jumu‘ah khutbahs, lectures, and youth and MSA programs. Shaykh Shahid serves as an experienced marriage officiant and licensed Clerk with Muslim and Interfaith Wedding Services at Nikah & Co and ICNYU. He is widely trusted for his pastoral guidance rooted in faith and compassion. Shaykh Shahid is honored to be part of the IAA family and serve the growing spiritual needs of the DFW Muslim community. He is currently the Director of the Quran and Hifdh faculty at IAA and hopes to bring his experiences and skills to teach in a meaningful, effective, and relatable way for the next generation of American Muslims.

Shaykh Ameen Almallah serves as the education director at the Islamic Association of Allen. Shaykh Ameen Almallah was born and raised in Dallas, Tx. He graduated from the Qalam Seminary ʿĀlimiyyah program in 2023 and serves as a Teaching Assistant for the Qalam ʿĀlimiyyah program.

Ustadh Zeeshan Parupia serves as the Youth Director at the Islamic Association of Allen, where he focuses on building engaging and impactful programs for elementary, middle school, high school, and young adults. He graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Marketing. During his university years, he was heavily involved in MSA, AΛΜ, and masjid youth leadership, and continues to serve as an advisor and mentor. Ustadh Zeeshan has studied with Suhbah Seminary and Al-Hirz Institute, and is currently enrolled in Qalam Institute’s Alimiyyah Program. In addition to his role at IAA, he is the Chief Executive Officer of The Preservers, an online Qur’an-centered education and leadership institute. He has previously worked with organizations including the Islamic Association of Collin County, Sachse Muslim Society, and WhyIslam Dallas. Outside of community work, Ustadh Zeeshan enjoys writing poetry, performing spoken word, creating short films, and coaching the next generation of leaders.
